We have been asked what the images are and how they were chosen. We did extensive market research both here in England and abroad before choosing the most useful and recognisable images to use. Discarded images included “Swimming pool”, “Hair dresser” and “Tennis courts”.
The final 16 images, in the order they appear on the band are:

The inside of the symband is plain white, and embossed with our company name. There are two reasons why the inside of the symband is plain, and both came directly from our market research.
Several parents wanted our bands for their children to wear, in case they got lost or wanted help. They made various suggestions, but the most popular was leaving the inside white so that, with the correct pen, a parent could write down on the symband itself an emergency mobile telephone number or Hotel name etc. We make no recommendations, but the “Sharpie” fine point permanent marker pen designed for CDs and DVDs works well.
A secondary suggestion was that if worn inside out the symband wouldn’t attract any attention at all, and just be seen as a plain band which some people seemed to prefer!
All images are debossed and then colour infilled for longevity.
